Job Summary
We are looking for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support Mastercard’s work in Tanzania. This position is all about building strong relationships with our clients—banks, processors, and other partners—and making sure they get the most out of Mastercard’s technology. It’s a role that combines technical know-how, business understanding, and a customer-first approach.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with banks, processors, and key stakeholders, becoming their trusted contact person.
- Guide customers through Mastercard’s products and services, explaining technical details in a way that makes business sense.
- Monitor ongoing projects and step in to resolve issues when needed.
- Share customer feedback with our teams so products and services keep improving.
- Support sales and account teams with technical advice and help identify opportunities for growth.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, new regulations, and emerging technologies, and bring that knowledge into your client work.
- Run or support training sessions for clients, including through Mastercard Academy.
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least five years’ experience in payments, fintech, or banking, with a good grasp of how the industry works.
- Solid knowledge of card operations, including issuing, acquiring, processing, clearing, and settlement.
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical or advisory role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with project management skills being a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to negotiate and influence at different levels.
- A collaborative approach—you’ll often be working across teams and with external partners.
