NMB Bank is looking for a highly driven Relationship Manager – Mining to lead business growth within the mining sector in the Western Zone. This role involves managing strategic client relationships, driving business acquisition, and delivering financial solutions tailored to the needs of mining companies. It also includes working closely with branches and business centres to strengthen the bank’s mining portfolio.
Role Purpose
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing and managing mining sector clients by offering customised banking solutions, providing expert financial advisory, and ensuring credit quality. The position plays a key role in expanding the bank’s footprint across the mining value chain while maintaining strong risk control and customer experience standards.
Key Responsibilities

Market and grow mining-sector business by promoting assets, deposits, forex, cash management, and digital banking products

Identify business opportunities and implement growth strategies across the Western Zone

Build a strong and quality mining portfolio through proactive client engagement and risk monitoring

Conduct industry-specific analyses considering commodity prices, production trends, operational risks, and compliance requirements

Appraise and recommend mining credit applications from branches and business centres

Act as the sector lead and advisory contact for the mining business across the Zone

Engage with industry stakeholders such as mining associations, licensing officials, and business forums

Train and support branch teams and relationship officers on mining sector dynamics

Support mining product development and customisation based on client needs

Produce regular sector and market intelligence reports

Maintain client pipelines and follow through on business leads

Ensure adherence to bank policies, credit procedures, and risk standards

Provide exceptional service and build long-term client partnerships

Represent the bank at mining forums, exhibitions, and investment events
Knowledge and Skills Required

Solid understanding of mining sector operations, value chains, and business models

Familiarity with Tanzanian mining policies, regulations, and licensing frameworks

Strong commercial awareness and financial analysis abilities

Ability to manage large corporate relationships and complex transactions

Competence in structuring mining-related financial solutions

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Banking, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline

A master’s degree is an added advantage

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in client relationship management, mining business, or corporate banking

Strong background in credit analysis, portfolio management, and business development
