
Position: Credit Manager
Location: Arusha, Tanzania
About the Role
The Credit Manager – Tanzania is a field-based position within the Global Risk and Credit team. The role is responsible for overseeing and managing credit risk and other operational risks within the EasyBuy business. It involves designing, implementing, and maintaining strong credit risk controls and operational processes to improve portfolio health, compliance, and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Performance Analysis

Identify high-risk customers and classify their probability of default using data insights and direct field assessments.

Flag portfolio risks and ensure timely reporting.

Provide accurate and timely reports on risk indicators and portfolio performance metrics.

Monitor regional and product-based portfolio trends, recommending corrective actions for negative performance patterns.
2. Audit & Compliance

Conduct internal audits to identify process gaps within underwriting, collections, onboarding (welcome), repossession, and change-of-details procedures.

Prepare detailed audit findings with actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
3. Collections Interventions

Support proactive collection strategies, including strengthening KYC and underwriting processes to improve client quality.

Develop, implement, and monitor field-based collection interventions through field teams.

Review existing policies and recommend revisions to improve portfolio outcomes based on market and field insights.

Optimize portfolio segmentation by assigning accounts to the right teams and proposing changes where beneficial.
4. Pilot Management

Oversee field pilots to ensure they are executed effectively and meet agreed performance metrics through regular engagement with relevant stakeholders.
5. Fraud Management

Ensure swift investigation and closure of reported fraud cases within established service-level timelines.
6. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare comprehensive reports covering field activities, data insights, process documentation, and operational observations.

Conduct industry research, interpret market and customer data, and propose strategies to support revenue growth and strengthen Sun King’s competitive position.
7. Additional Duties

Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by the Credit Lead or Risk Leadership Team based on the needs of the function.
Candidate Profile
Academic Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related business field.

At least 5 years of relevant experience in audit, risk, credit, or analytics, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.

Professional certification in Credit Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science is an added advantage.

Strong experience in data collection and field surveys.

Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
