About the Role
CRDB Bank is inviting applications for the position of Relationship Manager – Projects and Partnerships. This role is central to the design and delivery of financial solutions tailored for MSMEs, with a focus on innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability. The successful candidate will develop and enhance products that respond to the evolving needs of small businesses, while embedding ESG and climate-finance principles into the bank’s retail portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design and Development
- Assess client and market needs to identify product gaps and opportunities.
- Create inclusive MSME loan and savings products, such as youth and women-focused credit, green agriculture finance, and water harvesting loans.
- Develop pricing models, product manuals, and delivery frameworks.
- Pilot, scale, and refine products using structured client feedback mechanisms.
Digital Finance Integration
- Work with digital and ICT teams to streamline MSME loan processes.
- Integrate MSME products into CRDB’s digital channels, including mobile, agency, and USSD platforms.
- Track adoption of digital channels and propose improvements.
- Train staff and field teams on digital banking tools for MSMEs.
Client Experience and Feedback
- Build systems to gather client feedback and satisfaction data.
- Organise focus groups, surveys, and regular client engagement sessions.
- Use insights to refine products and service delivery.
ESG and Climate Finance Innovation
- Align MSME products with ESG standards and practices.
- Develop financing options for climate-resilient solutions like solar irrigation, water conservation, and clean cooking technologies.
- Create environmental and social risk screening tools.
- Identify partnerships and funding instruments to support sustainable lending.
Partnerships and Capacity Building
- Engage with NGOs, fintechs, and agritech firms to co-create products.
- Coordinate training for staff and MSME clients on digital finance and ESG-aligned products.
- Support rollout campaigns with financial literacy materials and communication tools.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain dashboards tracking product performance, repayment, and digital usage.
- Report progress to senior management and donor partners.
- Monitor KPIs linked to sustainability, ESG adoption, and digital finance growth.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, ICT, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
- At least 3 years in product development, digital finance, or MSME banking.
- Exposure to ESG, climate finance, or green lending practices.
- Hands-on experience with mobile money, fintech platforms, or agency banking.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Client-focused with a track record of designing impactful products.
- Excellent communication in English, with proficiency in French and Kirundi as an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
