Purpose of the Programme
The goal of the programme is to train and develop learners into skilled artisans. By the end of the learnership, participants will have acquired the technical expertise and hands-on experience required to perform essential engineering functions within the mining industry.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements:

Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent (essential)

Minimum N2 with four (4) completed subjects relevant to the trade, or NCV Level 4
Assessments:

Knowledge assessment

Psychometric testing

Formal interview
Fitness Requirements:

Valid Medical Fitness Certificate (Red Ticket)

Completion of Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
Key Performance Areas
During the learnership, candidates will:

Be trained through a structured artisan programme

Assist artisans with equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations

Complete all on-the-job and theoretical training phases

Learn and apply Marula Mine’s rules, standards, and compliance requirements

Work under the guidance of an experienced artisan or foreman

Gain exposure to fault diagnosis, problem-solving, and reporting

Help ensure equipment is maintained to prevent production downtime

Acquire supervisory and leadership skills through practical assignments
