About WeWorld
WeWorld is an independent organisation committed to promoting human rights and improving the quality of life for vulnerable communities worldwide. With projects spanning across education, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development, WeWorld works to ensure that no one is left behind — especially women, children, and people affected by conflict or natural disasters.
Operating in more than 25 countries, WeWorld’s work is driven by integrity, inclusiveness, and a strong sense of accountability to the communities it serves.
About the Role
WeWorld is looking for a Country Procurement and Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate all procurement and logistics activities within its country programs across Africa. The position is central to ensuring that operations run efficiently, transparently, and in full compliance with both organisational and donor requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with country representatives and program teams to manage supply chains, oversee purchasing processes, ensure value for money, and maintain proper documentation and reporting systems.
This is a highly responsible role that requires a balance of operational expertise, field experience, and strong organisational skills.
Main Responsibilities
As the Country Procurement and Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in keeping WeWorld’s country programs running smoothly and efficiently. Your work will ensure that every purchase, shipment, and logistical activity supports our mission in the field.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Lead and Coordinate Operations: Oversee all procurement and logistics functions in the country office, ensuring they align with WeWorld’s standards and donor requirements.
- Manage the Procurement Cycle: Handle the full process — from identifying needs and sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing deliveries — with a focus on value for money and transparency.
- Plan and Prioritise: Develop and maintain procurement plans to ensure that goods and services are delivered on time and within budget.
- Streamline Logistics: Supervise transportation, warehousing, and inventory systems so that all materials reach the right place safely and efficiently.
- Ensure Compliance: Make sure every step of the process meets WeWorld’s internal procedures, as well as donor and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep proper documentation for all procurement and logistics activities to support accountability and audit readiness.
- Support and Develop Teams: Provide technical guidance, training, and day-to-day support to local procurement and logistics staff, helping them grow their skills and confidence.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with program, finance, and administrative teams to make sure operations are coordinated and responsive to program needs.
- Report and Communicate: Prepare timely updates and reports on procurement and logistics activities for the Country Representative and headquarters, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least five years of professional experience in procurement and logistics, preferably within international NGOs or humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of procurement policies, donor regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proven experience managing teams and building capacity in multicultural environments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in English (French and/or Portuguese will be considered an asset).
Contract and Compensation
- Type of contract: Assignment ranging from 2 to 12 months, depending on organisational needs.
- Location: To be determined based on program priorities.
- Gross Salary: Defined according to the candidate’s experience and in line with WeWorld’s Compensation Policy.
- Starting date: To be confirmed based on program timelines.
