Role Overview.

Exim Bank Tanzania is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Relationship Manager – Retail Banking to drive business growth and strengthen client relationships. The role involves managing a portfolio of retail customers, growing deposits and lending products, acquiring new business, and delivering excellent banking solutions.

What you will do.

  • Manage and grow a designated customer portfolio while maintaining strong business relationships

  • Acquire new clients and increase business for CASA, Fixed Deposits, and asset-based products

  • Achieve sales and revenue targets across retail banking products

  • Provide professional financial advisory services and regular account reviews to clients

  • Identify customer needs and cross-sell bank products effectively

  • Maximise fee income from the managed portfolio

  • Develop and manage sales plans, market follow-ups, and performance records

  • Work closely with the Branch Manager to execute business strategies and explore market opportunities

  • Support new customer acquisition through client referrals

  • Maintain high product knowledge of the bank’s offerings to meet client needs

  • Prepare and submit periodic business performance reports

What you will do.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking, Economics, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relationship management, sales, or retail banking

  • Proven ability to grow and manage a retail client portfolio

  • Familiarity with banking products such as liabilities, lending products, cash management, and credit cards

  • Experience in structured trade finance or project financing will be an advantage

  • Strong financial analysis and client advisory skills

  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and target-oriented

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in computer applications and digital banking platforms
