About the role

Said Salim Bakhresa & Co. Ltd (SSB) is looking for a motivated, detail-driven Senior Tax Officer to join our finance team in Dar es Salaam. You’ll handle end-to-end tax compliance across group companies and work closely with regulators—gaining exposure to a wide range of tax matters in a supportive, fast-moving environment.

What you’ll do

• Prepare, compute, and file tax returns (VAT, WHT, corporate, payroll, and others)
• Maintain documentation and support tax inspections/audits
• Liaise with TRA, BRELA, and other authorities
• Support group companies on tax compliance and related queries
• Perform tax-related account reconciliations
• Ensure timely, accurate compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA) preferred
• 3+ years’ hands-on experience in tax computation, filing, and compliance
• Solid knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and regulations
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication
• Organised, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and in a team
• Able to manage multiple deadlines without losing accuracy
