    The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is inviting young South Africans to apply for its 2025 Internship Programme.     The DHET Internship Programme offers placements across a wide range of divisions, including:

    Internship Details

    • Stipend:

      • R7 860.40 per month (Graduate Interns)

      • R6 659.40 per month (WIL Students)

    • Contract: Fixed-term Internship

    • Free State CET Curriculum & Institutional Support Regional Office – IT, Office Administration, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing, and related fields.

    • Limpopo CET College – IT, Public Management, HR, Finance, Marketing, Project Management, and Psychology.

    • Gauteng CET Curriculum & Institutional Support – Public Management or Office Management.

    • GITO (Information Technology Services) – IT qualifications, including Service Desk and Application Development Management.

    • Information Knowledge & Records Management – Public Administration, Archives, Records Management, or Management Assistant.

    • Corporate Communications – Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Communication Science, Business Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, or Public Administration.

    The Financial Monitors will be responsible for ensuring that government funding allocated to ECD centres is properly managed, transparently recorded, and used for its intended purpose.

    Minimum Requirements

    • A three-year Degree/Diploma in:

      • Financial Management

      • BAdmin

      • BCom Accounting

      • Cost & Management Accounting

      • Or an equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6).

    • Preference will be given to candidates with NQF Level 7 qualifications.

    Duties

    Successful candidates will:

    • Monitor ECD centre finances.

    • Prepare and consolidate financial statements.

    • Conduct account reconciliations and audits.

    • Compile financial reports and spreadsheets.

    • Establish and maintain databases.

    • Train ECD centre staff and governing bodies on financial practices.
