What You Will Be Doing

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategy, execution, and people management. A few of the core responsibilities include:

  • Driving Business Growth: Grow deposits, expand loan portfolios, and boost adoption of alternative banking channels.
  • Exploring New Markets: Identify untapped opportunities, design tailored solutions, and launch initiatives that meet customer needs.
  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement development strategies, marketing plans, and customer engagement frameworks.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead by tracking competitor activity, industry trends, and customer insights.
  • Building Relationships: Foster strong connections with clients, agents, merchants, and key industry stakeholders to establish lasting partnerships.
  • Team Development: Inspire, coach, and mentor branch teams to achieve both personal and organisational goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage branch budgets and monitor business performance to ensure sustainable profitability.

Who We’re Looking For

Equity Bank is looking for more than just managers. We want leaders with vision — individuals who can inspire teams, win markets, and create experiences that keep customers coming back.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven leadership, mentorship, and coaching abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of banking risks, AML, and KYC policies.
  • Resilient, goal-driven, and proactive.
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, competitive environment.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in banking.
  • Strong background in business development and relationship management.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • An MBA or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
