Some roles are routine. Others put you at the very heart of a bank’s success.
At NMB Bank, the role of Monitoring Officer is precisely that—a position where detail, discipline, and foresight directly shape how we grow and how we protect our future.
This is a two-year fixed-term role based at our Head Office, and we’re looking for someone ready to do more than follow checklists. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in spotting risks before they become problems, someone who understands that accuracy is not just important, it’s essential.
What the Job Feels Like Day to Day
Think of this role as being the guardian of the credit process. One day, you’ll be reviewing loan approvals to make sure every condition is in place. Next, you might be flagging an overdraft that’s crossed its limit, or making sure collateral records are updated to the last detail. You’ll be in constant touch with business units, not as a messenger, but as a partner—helping them resolve issues, guiding them through compliance, and keeping the entire system strong and reliable.
This is work that demands focus and fairness. It also gives you the satisfaction of knowing that your effort has a real impact—protecting customers, strengthening the bank, and shaping a safer financial future.
What We Hope You’ll Bring
We know great Monitoring Officers don’t just come from textbooks; they come from experience and mindset. Here’s what will set you apart:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least two years in banking, with one year in retail lending.
- A firm grip on Excel and data analysis—because numbers tell stories if you know how to read them.
- A calm but alert personality: the kind of person who notices small shifts others overlook.
- Communication skills that help you work with colleagues across departments, even when you’re delivering tough feedback.
