Introduction
The University of the Free State (UFS) is inviting applications for its Internship Programme 2025/2026. A total of 15 internship posts are available on a two-year contract basis, where successful candidates will work 40 hours per week at one of UFS’s campuses:
- Bloemfontein Campus – Bloemfontein, Free State (primary location)
- Qwaqwa Campus – Qwaqwa, Free State
- South Campus – Bloemfontein, Free State
This programme is designed to give graduates valuable exposure in Student Academic Services (SAS) while contributing to the operations of one of South Africa’s most respected universities.
Contract duration: 2 years
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Stipend: R9,100.50 per month (fixed)

Internship Description
As part of the internship, candidates will assist the Student Academic Services division by:
- Supporting student enrolment and admissions processes.
- Maintaining and verifying academic records, transcripts, and certificates.
- Assisting with examination administration and graduation ceremonies.
- Scheduling classes and examinations through PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
- Coordinating academic venue bookings and managing curriculum data.
- Participating in quality assurance workshops and compliance meetings.
- Responding to administrative queries via email, phone, or face-to-face.
- Assisting with data validation and reconciliation to ensure record accuracy.
The internship provides structured exposure to compliance, administration, quality assurance, and communication within the higher education environment.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following inherent requirements:
- A National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields:
- Administration, Office Administration, Administrative Management, Public Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Communication, Public Relations, Computer Sciences, Data Management, or Project Management.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft 360 and MS Office software).
- Must not be currently part of another internship or learnership.
- Must not have previous formal work experience.
- Willingness to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
