World Vision Tanzania is seeking a Design, Monitoring & Evaluation (DM&E) Officer to support a donor-funded project focused on improving nutrition, advancing nutrition-related rights, and promoting gender equality for the most marginalised – particularly women, adolescent girls, and children under five.

Job Summary

The DM&E Officer will play a key role in ensuring that the project achieves its objectives by strengthening monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems. This role requires providing technical guidance in line with World Vision standards, donor requirements, and national policies.

You will support the project in areas such as data collection, reporting, learning, and documentation of best practices, while building the capacity of staff, partners, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and Evaluation (30%)

  • Develop and implement project monitoring and evaluation plans.
  • Lead baseline surveys, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations.
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
  • Formulate and monitor project key performance indicators (KPIs).

Learning and Knowledge Management (30%)

  • Maintain project databases, including GIS and remote sensing tools.
  • Document lessons learned, challenges, and best practices.
  • Disseminate information to project stakeholders and ensure reporting quality.
  • Capture and share significant change stories for project visibility.

Capacity Building (20%)

  • Develop monitoring templates and tools for staff and partners.
  • Train project staff, partners, and communities in MEAL systems.
  • Strengthen overall MEAL capacity for improved performance.

Networking and Visibility (15%)

  • Build strong relationships with partners, government authorities, and consortium members.
  • Ensure donor visibility and project branding at local and national events.
  • Represent World Vision at forums, workshops, and conferences.
  • Document and share project success stories for donor recognition.

Other Organisational Support (5%)

  • Support MEAL and Grants Acquisition & Management (GAM) functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in program management, MEAL, or donor-funded projects.
  • Proven experience in documentation, evidence gathering, and success story writing.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of MEAL systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with government officials, partners, and community stakeholders.

Working Environment

  • Base: Maswa, Simiyu Region.
  • Requires travel to project sites.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and tight deadlines is essential.
