Job Purpose

To drive the development, implementation, and growth of Ecosystem Banking solutions within the distribution industry, positioning Equity Bank as the leading provider of efficient, innovative financial services. The role links Retail, MSMEs, and Corporate clients to affordable banking solutions, while growing both liabilities and assets through strategic portfolio management and strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Ecosystem Development & Business Growth

  • Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with ecosystem anchors (suppliers, distributors, and other key stakeholders).
  • Drive liability mobilisation and customer retention in line with ecosystem annual targets.
  • Oversee deposit mobilisation, customer onboarding, and portfolio expansion across branches.
  • Continuously refine products and services based on customer and market feedback.
  • Conduct market research to design new solutions and enhance existing offerings.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Track weekly business performance and ecosystem growth, providing insights through interactive management dashboards.
  • Prepare regular reports on trends, risks, and opportunities for senior management.

Asset & Liability Portfolio Growth

  • Collaborate with MSME Relationship Managers to design initiatives that drive deposits and asset growth.
  • Identify, negotiate, and close business opportunities with MSMEs to grow deposits, interest income, and non-interest income.
  • Conduct credit analysis and underwriting in compliance with credit policies and risk frameworks.
  • Onboard new ecosystem anchors while optimising value chains for business realisation.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain and deepen client relationships to ensure retention and satisfaction.
  • Provide advisory and training support to empower customers in managing their businesses effectively.
  • Address client concerns while ensuring consistent delivery of quality service.
  • Promote cross-selling of bank products to borrowers and non-borrowers.
  • Represent and safeguard the Bank’s interests with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field from a recognised university.
  • A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the banking sector, with exposure to MSME, ecosystem, or digital lending functions.

  • Strong business development and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven financial and credit analysis capabilities.
  • Effective time management, high integrity, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to cross-sell and innovate within ecosystem structures.
