Job Purpose
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and managing key and potential clients. The role focuses on sales of liabilities, acquisitions, cash management, credit cards, and retail banking products, with the ultimate goal of maximising revenue and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage strong relationships with an assigned portfolio of customers, serving as their primary contact for all banking needs.
Grow the CASA (Current and Savings Account) balances within the portfolio in line with set targets.
Achieve fee income goals by deepening engagement with existing clients.
Provide personalised, value-driven banking services through regular account reviews and informed advisory.
Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities to expand product penetration.
Maintain an updated sales and query management database for performance tracking, analysis, and process improvement.
Collaborate with Branch Managers to anticipate client needs, identify opportunities, and deliver professional banking solutions.
Leverage referrals from existing clients to acquire new customer accounts.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of all Exim Bank products and services to deliver comprehensive client support.
Prepare and submit regular portfolio and performance reports to the Branch Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in banking or finance will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role within the banking sector.
- Proficiency in computer applications and evolving digital banking systems.
Competencies
- Ability to assess customer needs and tailor suitable solutions.
- Proven track record in sales and client relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products, including liabilities, acquisitions, cash management, credit cards, and sales products.
- Confidence, ambition, and resilience in taking on challenges.
- High energy, self-motivation, and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Experience in structured trade finance, syndications, or project financing will be an added advantage.
